The thesis is dispensed into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is firstly concerning the implementation of the topic into Czech national educational curriculum secondly demographic and mainly historical characteristic of the region. The historical part is focusing on Odolena Voda town and Panenske Brezany village. My greatest attention is dedicated to cultural monuments, which are going to be presented to students. Didactic walks to explore the city Benesov and its surroundings

The aim of the diploma thesis Didactic walks to explore the city Benešov and its surroundings is to create a set of materials for teaching the 4th and 5th grade students about the region and its surroundings within the educational area Man and His World. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the inclusion of the topic in the Framework Educational Programme, as well as theoretical bases of thesis - memory, cultural heritage, object learning and didactic walks as a form of teaching used in the practical part. It also deals with the city of Benešov in terms of natural, economic conditions and most of all cultural and historical development. The practical part deals with the design of three local history walks around the town of Benešov and its surroundings on selected topics. The aim of the walks is primarily to connect the curriculum with the history of the city and to guide pupils to build a relationship to their city and its monuments. Parts of the walks are activities before and after and also the go through the selected places with proposed tasks and worksheets. The theme of my diploma thesis is: "Natural Science walks and excursions - the current state and their implementation at the second stage of elementary school." It has two basic parts. The first part defines the different approaches of different authors to the main topic, ie. the conception of walks and excursions and it is associated with major subtopics. The second part involves self-evaluation of realized draft of Natural Science walks. It is based on an analysis of surveys that were used for collecting of data. I drew from the study of specialized literature, Natural Science textbooks for second stage of elementary school, and selected substrates from Elementary school Horažďovice.
